Rex jars consist of a range of different types of jars suitable for every preserving situation.
The standard Rex preserving jars are identical in design to Weck jars, being a heavy duty glass jar which can be frozen, baked, microwaved or pressure canned, with genuine rubber seal, glass lid and 2 stainless steel clamps. The main differences are the embossing on the jars (Weck features a strawberry logo, Rex features its name in writing across one jar face) and the pattern on top of the lid. The jars are made in the same factory as the famous strawberry logo Weck jars, but the Rex brand is known mainly in Austria and was acquired by Weck in the 1920s.
My Rex jars consist of a range of jars with twist top lids suitable for standard water bath canning applications (typically jams, chutneys, salsas). Some of the My Rex jars come with a deep twist off lid and these are suitable for water bath canning and pressure canning with the lid able to withstand temperatures up to 128 degrees C.
My Rex 4you bottles are a high quality swing top bottle with a heavy duty wire bail. Ideal for cordials, homemade sauce and fermented drinks.
