Zea Mays - Organically Grown
Blue Hopi Maize is a old heirloom variety used primarily for corn flour and making tortillas. Harvesting the corn at a young stage allows them to be roasted or baked. This blue flour maize originates from the American south west. It can grow 1.5-2m tall producing 2 large cobs per plant when grown well. Provide ample moisture and nitrogen based fertiliser (animal manure) to get the best results. Harvest cobs when the sheath turns brown for grinding flour.
