Bell Mason Single Jars
Our Bell range of plain unbranded Mason jars are perfect for a range of uses. Most have no or minimal embossing on the glass so there is plenty of space to put your own branding on the sides.
All Bell jars take continuous thread lids. Continuous-thread (CT) is the closure mechanism where the jar and lid are both threaded in one continuous bead around the entire circumference of the opening; also referred to as "screw-on".
There is less chance of overtightening a CT lid and they can withstand high temperatures.
In the USA where CT closures are more common than in Australia, customers prefer the CT style to the twist style. The CT lid creates a taller view of the closure (as it is deeper than a twist top lid) and provides the traditional look of a home-preserved jar. Customers also see the jar and lid as a reusable container which can use easily available preserving lids.
This compares with the lug or twist top enclosure. Lug is the closure system where the container has multiple threads and the lid has an equal number of lugs or tabs that grip the corresponding threads; also known as "twist-on".
